Grady Lebron McDowell

Grady Lebron McDowell, 73, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014. He was born in Chattanooga to the late Vernon & Lillie Mae McDowell and was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas. He was a Navy Veteran and was a self-employed Graphic Artist for more than 60 years. He was of the Christian faith and was an avid Motorcyclist who had a passion for Art and was always putting others needs before his own. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Plott McDowell; daughter, Michelle Harbin and brother, Raymond McDowell. Survivors include his children, Janah Barber and Danah Thornberg both of Ringgold, GA, Mitzi McDowell of Chattanooga, TN, Eric McDowell of Tunnel Hill, GA, Brandy McDowell of Chattanooga, TN and Cheyenne McDowell of Gainesville, GA; brother, Jimmy McDowell of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; 9 grandchildren, Ethan, Brian, Todd, Dusty, Tyler, Shannon, Candace, Camry and Hunter; 13 great grandchildren; mother of Janah, Danah, Mitzi and Eric, Tonja Mercer; and numerous extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 in the Wallis-Stewart Chapel of Wilson Funeral Homes. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
