Granson Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Ahoskie Chapel on Feb. 16, 2026.
COFIELD, NC - Granson Len Taylor, of Hertford County, North Carolina, was born on August 12, 1956, and peacefully passed away on February 14, 2026, at the age of 69. Granson spent his life in the same county that he was born in, surrounded by the familiar landscapes and community he held dear.

Throughout his life, Granson exhibited a strong work ethic and dedication to his craft. He served as the manager of the meat department at Food Lion for many years. Later, he applied his skills and perseverance to the roofing industry.

In his leisure time, Granson found joy in moments by the water, whether it was taking trips to the beach or the quiet pleasure of fishing off the pier. He relished the camaraderie and competition found in playing horseshoes and delighted in the simple pleasure of cooking on the grill. Television provided him with endless hours of entertainment, and in recent days, he enjoyed watching the Winter Olympics.

Granson was preceded in death by his parents, Linton Yancy Taylor and Susie Mae Tillery Parker. He leaves behind a circle of close companions who will cherish his memory: Joyce Baggett, his girlfriend, and steadfast friends Steve Stroud and Arthur H. Still, Jr.

In accordance with Granson's wishes, no formal services will be held. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet his memory will endure in the stories shared by his surviving friends and loved ones.
