As the SpaceX launched today, I again think of the Jarvis family and the pain they went through that very day when we lost the Challenger. Wishing you peace and love Steve, your brother will never be forgotten for his bravery, even though I didn't have the chance to meet him. Thinking of Cindy today too, she was so much fun to work with. I am so sorry, I'll always remember her too.

In Hermosa Beach, CA, on the Strand, there are a couple of palm tress, a bench, and a tile mural dedicated to the Challenger and its crew. Greg Jarvis and his bike are in there, since he used to ride his bike along that stretch of ocean. I once lived there, and many times I stopped at that bench, looked at the faces in ceramic, remembering the day I heard the news, where I was, what it felt like. And in later years I have often taken my children to see the memorial, to teach them why it mattered. Thank you, Greg, and all of your team, for reaching for the stars so we could touch them too.
