Greg Merrigan

Gregory Paul "Greg" Merrigan, age 81, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Hunterdon Medical Center in Flemington, NJ surrounded by his family. Born in Montclair, New Jersey, as the son of the late Joseph and Robina (née Christison) Merrigan, he was raised in Clark, NJ before settling in Whitehouse Station, NJ in 1977. Greg is predeceased by his brother, Gordon Merrigan.

Greg graduated from Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School in Clark as part of the Class of 1963. Following high school, Greg attended Union County College where he studied computer science. He served his country honorably and faithfully in the United States Army National Guard. Greg worked for Western Electric in Union, New Jersey. Subsequently, he spent many years working at FMC Corporation in Princeton, NJ where he held the position of maintenance supervisor until his retirement.

Greg was a devoted family man and a person of faith. He cherished the moments he spent with his grandchildren. He enjoyed gardening and had a passion for traveling.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Maureen Theresa (née Lindsay) Merrigan, with whom he united in Holy Matrimony on November 26, 1966. He will be profoundly missed by three loving children: Gregory Paul Merrigan, Jr. of Delaware Township, NJ; Kathleen Ann and her spouse Christopher Pilla of Alexandria Twp, NJ; and Nancy Ellen and her husband Jeff Schaming of Holland Township, NJ. Additionally, he leaves behind five cherished grandchildren: Gregory Ryan Merrigan, Kayla Merrigan, Kevin Schaming, Kyle Schaming, and Sean Pilla; along with numerous dear nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to join for a viewing at Countryside Funeral Home, located at 724 US Highway 202, Three Bridges, NJ 08887 on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. The viewing will also take place on Wednesday, February 11, from 8:45 to 9:15 a.m. The funeral services will start at the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. with Transfer Prayers, followed by the Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church in Whitehouse Station at 10:00 a.m., with Monsignor Randy officiating. Military honors, committal prayers, and interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Annandale, New Jersey.
