Gregg Paul Fay, was born December 13, 1969, in Chicago, Illinois. A longtime resident of Texarkana, Texas, passed away at a local hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Gregg was a jack of all trades he possessed an unshakable work ethic. Whether, it was in the smoldering heat of summer, the bitter chill of winter or the pouring rain-Gregg never shied away from hard work. He was a man who believed in giving his all in every task and responsibility. His strength and determination were unmatched and those qualities live on in the legacy he leaves behind.
Gregg's life was defined by his unwavering devotion to his family. His children, were his greatest pride and joy. He often said that if he ever did anything right in this world, it was being their father. He poured his heart into raising and loving them. His children will forever carry with them the lessons he taught and the love he so freely gave. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Dykes; two sisters, Terri Dykes-Waites and Nikki Dykes-Moore and his six beloved children: Debra Riegert (Charlsie), Ashlyn Marie, Amber Arroyo, Adam Arroyo (Vanessa), Kaelee Fay (Clay) and Alecia Fay. His love extended even further to his eight cherished grandchildren-five granddaughters and three grandsons-each of whom brought him immeasurable happiness.
Gregg also had a deep and abiding love for his mother and his sisters. They were a constant source of comfort and strength to him throughout his life and he carried them in his heart through every chapter of his journey. His nieces, nephews and cousins were also a big part of his life and he treasured the bond he shared with each of them. Family, in every form, was the center of Gregg's world.
He shared his life with his longtime spouse, Devin Wooldridge, whose steadfast love and companionship brought him comfort and joy throughout the years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Malcolm Dykes and his sisters, Tina Lynn Downs and Dorothy Vazquez. Though gone from this earth, Gregg is reunited with them and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who remain.
Gregg will be remembered as a son, father, grandfather, brother, partner, cousin, uncle and a friend to many-but most of all, as a man whose love for his family was the heartbeat of his life.
Gregg will be laid to rest at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens, in Texarkana, Texas. Memorial services will be held on September 13th, at Liberty-Eylau Baptist Church, in the fellowship hall. Located at 5605 S Lake Dr, Texarkana, TX 7550 between the hours of 11am to 1pm.
