Gregg Joseph Servidio, "Suds", 59, of Westerly, RI, would like to let everyone know that his work here on Earth is done. He passed away unexpectedly on Easter morning, April 20, 2025, on his way to RI Hospital. Unfortunately, during that trip, he must have received a call, one that you can't refuse, for an appointment from which he will not be returning.
As unfortunate as it is, this assignment comes with a reunion of family, Jacqueline (Pratt) Servidio- mother, Arthur Servidio- father, Nancy (Falco) Servidio- wife, Jospeh Mazzarella- grandfather/ Jeanette Pratt-grandmother, and friends that he has not seen in a very long time.
His new mission takes him to a place where he will be causing mischief daily, riding motorcycles for miles on end, mud bogging in his truck, writing poems and drawing, driving taxis and meeting new people daily, cooking outstanding dishes, drinking Jägermeister and eating feasts until his heart's content, playing with his dog Elvis, driving everyone insane with his sense of humor and sharp mind, and watching over his loved ones that he had to leave behind.
Born in the small town of Westerly, RI, which is where he spent most of his life, Gregg also resided in PA for quite some time. However, no matter where he was, he stayed a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, family member and friend. He was a problem solver who often took on unwanted or difficult projects for the people he loved and valued the most. He valued intellect, dry and dark wit, being generous, always helping someone in need, and getting back up no matter how many times or how hard you're knocked down. He will be remembered as a man who was both good and stubborn, a man who gave his best to others in the ways that he could, a man who you could count on to light up the room, make you laugh, and brighten your day, a man who's heart was pure gold, and a man who was very alert, clever, and wise with intelligence that knew no bounds.
Gregg is survived by his son- Syngen "Starr" Servidio; grandchildren, Grayson, Lilith and Juliana; sister Kristan Servidio; niece Brittany Buck; great-nephew Lucas Algier; uncle Douglas Pratt (Claire); many cousins, and a number of close loving friends and family.
For those of you who have known Gregg in his fruitful journey with us, a Celebration of his Life will be held later on in the year around September/October, place, date, and time to be determined, but close to the area of Westerly, RI 02891.
Death reminds us that grief is not goodbye but the longest "see you later" ever. Don't forget that God only takes the best. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die," Thomas Campbell [4, 16]
