Gregory Bruntzel Obituary

Gregory "Greg" Bruntzel

February 1, 1959 - September 27, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Gregory Kent Bruntzel, a devoted husband, cherished father, and proud retired Navy Senior Chief, who dedicated 20 years of honorable service to his country. Greg passed away on September 27, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, laughter, and love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Born on February 1st, 1959, in Wichita, Kan., Greg lived a life grounded in service, integrity, and family. His Navy career was marked not only by discipline and duty, but also by the deep care and mentorship he extended to his shipmates. Even in the most challenging times, he carried himself with humility and grace, earning the respect of all who served alongside him.

Beyond his uniform, Greg was a man of warmth, kindness, and laughter. He was a loving husband to Barb, with whom he shared 40 wonderful years filled with joy, partnership, and unwavering devotion. As a father, he was a guiding light patient, encouraging, and always proud of his children. One of his greatest joys in life was being a grandfather to Gabriel, who held a very special place in his heart. Their bond was filled with love, laughter, and tender moments that brought Greg immeasurable happiness and pride. His family was his greatest joy and his most treasured accomplishment.

In his free time, Greg found joy in simple pleasures. He was a devoted Green Bay Packers fan, cheering faithfully each season and proudly wearing his green and gold. He also loved the quiet beauty of the golf course. Those who knew Greg will remember his genuine smile, his steady wisdom, and the way he made everyone feel valued and cared for. His life was one of honor, loyalty, and love a life that touched so many and will never be forgotten.

Greg is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara; his children, Stephanie and Alexia; and his grandson, Gabriel.

A service to honor Greg's life will be held on October 5th, 2025, 1 to 3 p.m. visitation, 3 p.m. service to follow at Church and Chapel, 380 Bluemound Rd, Waukesha, WI 53188. Friends, family, and shipmates are invited to gather and celebrate the remarkable man he was.

Fair winds and following seas, Senior Chief. Your watch is complete, now free from pain and resting in the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

"Jesus answered him, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise." -Luke 23:43
