Gregory Crabb

Gregory L. Crabb, 75, of Gladstone, Illinois, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2025, at his home.

Born July 8, 1950, in Burlington, he was the son of Robert and Jewel Crabb. On Nov. 3, 1989, he married Susan Osborn.

Greg served his country with the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam.

When he returned home, he worked for General Electric and retired as a supervisor from the company. He went back to work for Flint Cliffs Manufacturing Corporation as a purchasing agent, where he eventually retired.

Greg was always a hard worker and was known for his quiet personality and contagious laugh. As an avid outdoorsman, he appreciated the beauty of nature and the solitude that it brought. He enjoyed keeping his body active: lifting weights and exercising as much as he could.

His home brought him peace. He knew his mind could be at ease when he pulled into his driveway and saw his wife, Susan, whom he adored, and his children and grandchildren.

Greg was very handy and enjoyed working on his house. There was hardly a corner that didn't showcase his handy work. Even if a project wasn't available to work on, Greg could find a way to piddle and work on something.

Greg's quiet demeanor, laughter, and work ethic will be missed, but his memory will continue on through all who love him. He worked hard every day to be a better man.

Survivors include his wife, Susan Crabb; children, Jason (Holly) Crabb, Robert (Nicole) Crabb, Dori Dreckmeier, and Eric Osborn; grandchildren, Ben Crabb, Robert Crabb, Jr., Abigail (Tyler) Mosena, Bailey (Dalton) Carlson, Tristan Roberts, Jaxon Osborn, Miley Dreckmeier, Claire Crabb, and Dalyla Crabb; two great grandchildren; sisters, Ginger (the late Jim) Cowley and Cindee (Shannon) Wilson; and his mother, Jewel Mason.

Greg is preceded in death by his father, Robert Crabb.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Prugh Crematory.

The Memorial Mass of the Resurrection for Greg will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12, at Divine Mercy Parish-SS. Mary and Patrick Catholic Church, West Burlington, with Father Jake Greiner as the Celebrant.

Greg will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered by the United States Marine Corps following Greg's Memorial Mass.
