A memorial visitation for Gregory Paul Duckworth, Sr., 77, of Nacogdoches, will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Laird Funeral Home. Gregory passed away on November 9, 2025, in Tyler. He was born on June 24, 1948, in Alameda, California to the late Ulan Paul Stella (Short) Duckworth.

Greg joined the military shortly after graduating high school before the draft. He was proud of his military career where he attained the rank of Supply Sergeant. Greg never met a stranger. He helped everyone he could and never asked any questions, he just loved to help. Greg was a true foodie. He enjoyed going out to eat and absolutely adored fried green tomatoes. Greg was an avid outdoorsman. He was often camping, hunting, and fishing. He raised chickens and rabbits. Gardening was a passion for him as well. He grew tomatoes, cucumbers, and peppers. Greg enjoyed cruising and gambling the night away. He was a member of the VFW and drove the church bus picking up kids for church. Greg was the epitome of the family man. He loved his family and took great care of them.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Gregory Duckworth II and wife, Amy, Charise Burns and husband, Tommy, and Matthew Duckworth and wife, Amber; grandchildren, Kiersten, Mariah, Taebryn, Elijah, Aiden, Aaron, Kaylee, Autumn, Luc, Mary, Nathan, Johnny, Lorynne, Kayla, Magan, and Gracie; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Godfrey Duckworth, Bill French, Kevin Duckworth, Les French, and Gary French.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ulan and Stella Duckworth; brothers, Ulan Paul Duckworth, Jr. and Troy Duckworth; and sisters, Paulette Duckworth and Gayle Henley.
