Gregg Fowler, 74, passed away with his loved ones at his side on January 21, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of resilience, joy, and a sweet spirit. Born on August 23, 1951 in
Decatur, Alabama, Gregg lived all of his life in
Aiken, South Carolina, spending his life navigating and exploring the roads of life.
A special individual, Gregg faced life's challenges with a strength that was "tough as nails." He possessed an incredible memory and a sharp mind for problem-solving. He spent his life working diligently to overcome every obstacle, always striving to be active, independent, and a contributing member to his surroundings.
Gregg worked in a customer service role, helping people with groceries and stocking shelves at Food Lion for 23 years. Previously, he worked for Kroger for 20 years, in addition to other various jobs. He was a familiar and friendly face at these local stores. His helpfulness didn't stop at the end of the workday; he was often found meticulously mowing his own lawn and those of his neighbors, ensuring everything looked just right.
He was a master navigator of Aiken County and its surroundings, traveling the area on his motor bike with a precision that surpassed any Uber driver. These rides often took him to work, his favorite spots-the beach to soak in the sun, or the lake, which he loved despite a memorable boating mishap that kept him on the shore in later years. He also found great joy in visiting animal parks with his caregivers or simply sitting on his porch, relaxing in the sun and watching the birds.
Gregg's personality was as big as his heart. He was known for his "flirty smile" and his wonderful sense of humor that he shared with his cherished caregivers, friends, and family.
Above all, Gregg was a fighter who remained incredibly positive, always believing in his ability to push forward. His family takes great comfort in knowing that his earthly struggles are over. He is now with the Lord, gifted with a new body and the peace he so richly deserves.
Gregg is survived by Mike and Renee Fowler, Ron and Varenda Fowler, Kim and Kevin Campton, Kelli Fowler and Ed Fickle, and his extended Witter, Godson, Ray, and Bennett family with many nieces and nephews. His caregivers/honorary pallbearers, Tocia Cooper, Stacy Greene, Ashlie Smith, Kaitlyn Parrott, Debbie Turner, Samantha Caniglia, Milisa, Rayette, and Matt Godson, and Cindy Ray were his special angels who he loved. He also had a community of friends and other caregivers who were inspired by his life. Gregg was preceded in death by his father, Ollie Daniel and Gladys Fowler, and his mother Willie Ruth Fowler.

Gregg taught us that with a positive heart and a bit of grit, any challenge can be met with a smile and how truly privileged we are. He will be deeply missed.
