To provide for his family Greg worked for several years as a truck driver for various companies but most recently as a delivery driver for the Monroe Evening News.
Greg was blessed with two sons: Ernest and Jacob and two daughters: Ash-Lee and Raven. He could often be very stubborn, but his kind soul shone through. Above all Greg loved spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He liked playing video games endlessly, especially PalWorld and State of Decay 2. When he took a break from defeating zombies he enjoyed watching the YouTube channel, football, cheering on his two favorite teams: the Detroit Lions and the University of Michigan Wolverines, or watching his all-time favorite movie "Excalibur". He also enjoyed listening to a variety of music from country to bluegrass, to even Eminem. He loved making potato pancakes or eating a good batch of chicken strips. Greg was extremely mechanically inclined, often tinkering with cars.
Gregory Lynn Graves, age 65 of Monroe, passed away on Wednesday; September 17, 2025, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. His passing was preceded by his parents; Ernest and Axie Graves; his loving wife: Rebecca Graves; and his siblings: Mike Graves, Caroline Mayes, and Phyllis Graves.
To cherish his memory Greg leaves his four children: Ernest (Tiphannie) Graves, Jacob Scaggs, Ash-Lee (Thaddeus) Graves, and Raven Graves; two sisters: Ella Fay (Ron) Harmon and Sandra Poupard; one brother: Allen (Cheryl) Graves; and seven grandchildren: Abbi, Anna, Aryca, Nyx, Nova, Sklin, and Logan.
No public services are planned at this time. Greg's care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
