Gregory “Gregg” Allen Hampton, age 65, of Kingsport, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 8th, 2024. He was born on August 31st, 1959, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to Carol “Callie” Hampton and Wesley Hampton. Gregg is survived by his wife of 37 years, Kimberly “Kim” Hampton; daughters Amber Hall and Kendra Edgell; sons-in-law Travis Hall and Todd Edgell; and grandchildren Sadie and Chase Edgell.
Gregg worked for Tisco Tractor Parts for 32 years and Royal Brass and Hose for 9 years. He was a devoted family man, husband, and father. A member of a Reel Christian Bass Anglers, Gregg was an avid outdoorsman who could often be found fishing on Saturdays with close friends and family.
Born on campus at the University of Alabama, Gregg was a lifelong Crimson Tide fan who never missed a Saturday football game. He was also an active member of Northeast Church of Christ, where he served as an usher. Gregg was known for greeting members and visitors alike with a warm smile, making coffee, and passing out donuts. He brought humor, genuine kindness, and a welcoming spirit wherever he went.
Visitation will be held at Northeast Church of Christ in Kingsport, TN, from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm on Saturday, December 14th. A service to honor Gregg’s life will follow at 1:30 pm at the same location.
