Gregory Dale Jeffries, age 67, passed away at 3:25 am on August 12, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Born in Jefferson City, Missouri on July 12, 1957, Greg is survived by his parents, Darrel and Hazel Janice Jeffries; two daughters, Amy Bay (Darrel) and Abby Bay (Allen); six grandchildren, Madilyn Rucker (Jordan), Brody Bay, Carter Bay, Lillian Bay, Kellen Bay, and Quinton Bay; two siblings, Chris Jeffries and Michelle Jeffries Sharp (Michael); as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Greg was a graduate of Lone Jack High School Class of 1975 where he excelled in academics and participated in football, basketball, and track. By the late 1980's, he was afflicted with severe rheumatoid arthritis and, in his later years, enjoyed sitting in his truck and listening to music, talk radio, and sports while watching the animals and enjoying the sunrise or sunset. He especially loved to show off pictures of his kids and grandkids and was looking forward to the birth of his first great-grandchild later this year. Greg often spent time with his parents and always looked forward to some of his mom's good home cooking! Long talks or sending one of his extremely long talk-to-text messages were among his favorite hobbies.
At Greg's request, a private family service will be held later this month.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ronald McDonald House, a cause near and dear to Greg and the rest of the family. (https://rmhckc.org/donate/)
