Gregory James Kopps, 79, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side.
He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on March 31, 1945, to the late Frank and Josephine Kopps.
Gregory graduated from Pratt University earning a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering. During his life, he liked to travel and take cruises with his family and friends. He and his wife, Janice, enjoyed Italy the most. He also enjoyed exercise and appreciated a good brewery.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Janice Kopps; daughter, Lindsey Keister and husband, Daniel; son, Patrick Kopps; brother, Richard Kopps and wife, Joan Kopps; and his granddaughter, Sadie Keister.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2024, in the chapel at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home with Deacon Zeke Panzica officiating.
