Gregory Wayne Loney, 59, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away on November 18, 2025, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Greg was born on January 30, 1966. One of his proudest achievements was owning and operating his very own Domino’s Pizza franchise. He poured his energy, leadership, and ingenuity into the store, mentoring his team and building a business he was deeply proud of. Later in life, Greg became a truck driver, a career that gave him the freedom of the open road and suited his independent spirit.

A lifelong tinkerer, Greg loved exploring anything he could improve or make more “efficient,” from electronics and vehicles to gardening projects. He also had a passion for collecting football cards, building a remarkable collection that reflected his love of the game and attention to detail. Even in life’s toughest moments, he never lost his sense of humor—always finding a laugh, a story, or a light moment to share. He cherished long conversations with family and friends, trading stories, offering advice, and staying connected to those he loved most.

Greg was a man of faith who believed deeply in Christianity. He often said, “Jesus saves,” and his family takes comfort knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his son, Michael Loney; his father, Earl Loney; his paternal grandparents, Knox and Nora Loney; his maternal grandparents, Clifton Groves and Catherine Willett; his brother-in-law, Rick York; and his stepbrother, Harold Richardson.

He is survived by the mother of his children, Catherine “Jeanette” Loney; his children, David (Brandy) Loney, Justin (Destiny) Loney, and Amber (James) Loney; his grandchildren, Zachary Ash, Benjamin Ash, Matthew Loney, and Olivia Loney; his mother, Faye Loney; his sisters, Carla York and Candy (Mike) Clepper; his stepbrother, Greg (Denise) Richardson; his cousins and extended family who loved him.

Greg will be cremated in Nashville, Tennessee. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Owensboro, Kentucky.
