MORSE, Gregory Andrew, 60, of Woodstock, Illinois passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025.
Greg was born on July 11, 1965, in Windsor, Ontario, where he lived with his mother, Elise Marie-Claire Lauzon and his first father, Bryan McTague, until Bryan’s passing shortly thereafter. Greg’s mother was remarried to James K. Morse in 1967, who adopted Greg and moved the family to the United States. Greg’s parents later blessed Greg with three siblings, Jeffrey, Krista and Stephanie, and they lived in Connecticut, St. Louis and Lake Bluff before moving to Lake Forest, Illinois. Greg was an avid sports enthusiast, but had a particular love for baseball (New York Yankees), and hockey, (New York Rangers). He played college hockey at Marquette in Wisconsin, and went on to obtain a law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1992.
Greg returned to Illinois where he practiced law and met his wife, Mia Lucas. They were married on December 7, 2002, and were blessed with two beautiful children, Michael Lucas James Morse, born in 2003, and Ainsley Madeleine Morse, born in 2004. Greg’s love for sports is shared by his children, and he coached them in both soccer and hockey. Greg was a loving father to his children, never missing a game or a school event. Greg also deeply loved his nieces, nephews, brother, sisters and parents. He loved music, history, reading, was a trivia buff and was always the life of the room – making people laugh wherever he went.
Greg was preceded in death by his mother Elise Marie-Claire Morse, and his father, Bryan McTague. He is survived by his wife, Mia, his two children, Michael and Ainsley, his father James K. Morse, his brother Jeffrey (Christine) Morse, his sister Krista (Victor) Michel, his sister Stephanie (Michael) Prask, and his eleven nieces and nephews: Connor, Charles, Josephine and William Morse; Brody, Graham, and Nolan Nash; and Hannah, Zoe, Dylan and Mireille Prask.
