Gregory Ivan Poncelet, left this world on December 5, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Gregory was a devoted son, brother, uncle, husband, father, cousin, grandson, nephew, best friend, co-worker, renovator, visionary, and truly an all-around great guy. His warm and vibrant spirit has now moved on to make heaven a little funnier.
Those who knew him can imagine him now, perhaps talking fishing with the disciples and picking crocuses with Grandma P. It is a comforting thought that Grandma P's saying of "Happy Days" has become a reality for him now.
Gregory had a deep love for his family, his life, and his work. If he could express one regret, it would be that he did not want to depart this life so soon. Yet, he leaves behind a legacy of laughter, joy, and determination—evident in the way he always sought to get things started, even if he didn't always finish them.
While there may be no words to relieve the pain of his loss, the beautiful memories he created will forever remain etched in the hearts of those who loved him. His laughter, his smile, and his unforgettable spirit will continue to be celebrated and cherished.
A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor on Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Cochrane Alliance Church located at 902 Glenbow Drive, Cochrane, AB. The service will begin at 1:00 PM. A time of viewing, will take place from 12 noon to 12:45, for those wishing to pay their final respects. For those not able to attend in person, the service will be live-streamed. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Greg's memory, to the Veteran's Food Bank or any Food Bank in your area.
We love you, Greg.
