Gregory LeRoy Richmond

Gregory LeRoy Richmond of Fairgrove, age 54, passed away Monday, August 18, 2025 at Trinity Health of Ann Arbor. He was born on March 19, 1971 in Bay City, the son of Robert Richmond and Sandra (Poppy) Goodrich.

He learned and mastered many types of work. He enjoyed being a cook at the Bavarian Inn of Frankenmuth and later worked as a chef for the former JJ Jamokes of Caro. Gregory found joy in preparing meals for his family and friends, filling his soul with warmth and passion. Yet, his greatest love in work was found behind the wheel, where truck driving became not just his job, but his true calling.

Gregory enjoyed life most when he was outdoors, even moving to Maine for a time to take in all the state's natural beauty. There was never a dull moment when he went camping in the woods. Often, he could be found casting a line, patiently waiting for the catch of the day or taking a peaceful ride in his canoe.

Gregory will be deeply missed by both his family, friends, and the community that he met along his way.

Gregory is survived by his mother, Sandra Goodrich; two uncles, Boyd and Dean Poppy; aunt, Tina Fluette; and his best friend, Cindy Voss.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2025 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home of Caro.
