I met Greg twenty years ago through his work at Burns & Scalo. Greg was a total professional and worked tirelessly to accomplish the mission. Everything he did was 'First Class" As a visitor to Pittsburgh, Greg always spent quality time making certain that we developed more than a business relationship, but a lasting friendship. Greg had so much love in his heart. I truly miss this humble, gracious man, my friend. My condolences to his family and friends.

Greg's personality would light up any room he walked into. Whenever we had a family function or get together and heard he would be coming, everyone would be excited and knew we were in for a treat. He just had that kind of impact on people.
I will never forget the harmonica, stories around the euchre table and hearing stories about him and my dad.
Even though we are sad he is gone, you just can't help but smile thinking of him and who he was.
I hope to have half the impact on people that he did. That would be a big accomplishment.
Keep an iron city and seat at the euchre table open for us Greg. You are loved and will be missed.

We knew Greg and his siblings since we became part of the extended family, our son Syam married his sister Shanon. The siblings have been very close since their childhood and it continued as we knew as they grew up and raised their families. Greg was very friendly, caring and loving to family and friends. We have pleasant memories of him, spending time together at family gatherings. We miss him. May he rest in peace. Our condolences to all his loving family members and friends.

So very surprised and saddened by hearing of Greg's passing. Greg always made me feel like his best friend. Being a musician, we could chat for hours, but he quickly would head to deeper waters in the conversation than I was ready for!
He loved being ushered into the schools that we serve with school supplies. He had genuine interest and concern for the students and loved being able to be of service in any way he could.
His appreciation for life was unbridled and infectious. Who doesn't want to be around someone like that? He leaves a big hole in this town that will be impossible to fill. We are left to love him as we know him. Meanwhile, I am sure he is off to greener pastures.
May the Good Lord comfort us in our loss.

Dear Schuster Family - I am beyond sorry for your loss. Greg was such a character and always had a smile on his face every time I saw him. Our family last saw him around Thanksgiving having lunch over in Mt. Lebanon and he practically knew the whole restaurant. He was one of a kind and we will be greatly missed when visiting the BSRE office. Sending so much prayer and hugs to your family at this time.

Dear Shuster Family,
What a beautiful tribute you have written for this one-of-a-kind lovely human being. It is hard to read without tears but even harder to believe it has happened. Everyone's comments are capturing his work ethic, kindness, loyalty, caring nature, and especially that Shuster humor, so perfectly. I can't imagine any of you being okay right now, but it is my hope that you are finding comfort surrounded by your amazing family.
Love,
Carol Schantz

Greg was my Uncle Bill Marshall's best friend. As a kid, whenever I came to visit my Grandma's house on Home Avenue he would always be around. He always remembered me, joked with me and was always smiling.
Playing football on the street at Home Ave. with Greg as the quarterback was great and it sucked. It was great because I knew he would get me the ball. It sucked because he threw the ball so hard I would have little X shaped welts on my forearms from catching it.
Growing up I heard many entertaining stories of my Uncle's and Greg's exploits.
My heart goes out to your family and his friends.
With love,
Dave VanAsdale

A former brother-in-law who I always thought of as a real brother! Greg was a unique personality who was devoted to family and always had focused time for everyone! Some of my fondest memories are his hilarious stories and jokes which he delivered non-stop as everyone opened their Christmas gifts or ate Thanksgiving dinners on Taylor Street, or, while we played football on Home Avenue or attended Steelers games on cold December weekends! He was and is one of the most genuine and honest people I have ever known and it was my honor to have spent some time with him. The world is a better place because of you Greg!

I have known Greg for most of my professional career in this crazy industry. He is one of the good guys. Freely sharing knowledge, points ov view, twisted humor, ribald tales of a former youth. He made this mind bending business fun to be in. I am gonna miss this guy a lot.

I was so fortunate to call Greg a friend and enjoy many laughs with him. I just smile at the mention of his name or recalling some of our conversations, or his serenading me. He was simply the best and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to your family on the passing much too soon of a dear friend to so many.

I got the chance to work with Greg the past year and a half. Greg was so sweet, always cracking jokes, and so thorough and patient with clients. He loved music and was always singing and playing songs. We connected over Neil Young in particular.
He loved baseball. I had the good fortune to attend two baseball games and an event at the Clemente museum with Greg.
He was also passionate about the weather and followed storms. I heard that a meteor hit the atmosphere lighting up the sky and causing a sonic boom on Saturday. I feel that was him exiting this world with a bang.
I am sad that I didn't get as much tine with Greg as my colleagues to learn and enjoy his wisdom and wit. He will be so missed by his work family!

The Shuster family were our next-door neighbors growing up. There were four children in my family and many more in theirs. They had a "big" family. I remember their father passed away at a very young age. Their mother raised them on her own and every one of them went to St Philips then to Canevin High School. She must have been a very strong woman. A few years back my sister and I met Greg at the Hop House for dinner. He had us laughing hysterically at some of the stories he was telling us from "back in the day" of being neighbors. Greg will surely be missed by many. His mom and dad welcomed him to Heaven. God Bless the Shuster family, my prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies to Greg's family and dear ones. I knew him a bit from his bringing his Mom to Noon Mass at SEAS a few years ago. What a warm and bright light he was! In my position at work I am in and out of the office at all times as Health and Safety Manager. I don't think there was a single time that I visited the office and didn't have a 10-20 minute talk with Uncle Greg before I left. I want to emphasize the Uncle part and why we call him that. Uncle Greg is like family and treated all of us as his family. That was the type of guy Uncle Greg was he wouldn't let me get out of the office without our opportunity to update each other on what we were doing in life and at work. At every work party Uncle Greg would always be one of the last ones there making sure everyone got out of there okay and safe. He was our protector, mentor and role model. Uncle Greg you will be missed and I promise to always stay smiling no matter how bad of a mood I may be in.

I have no words to describe how much Greg will be missed. He is taken too soon. He was more than my friend, we considered him family in our home and are deeply saddened by this terrible loss. I'm so sorry Greg. If I knew that October 23rd was the last time we'd see you, I would have hugged you longer. Rest with God Greg. Never forgotten & always in our hearts. <3

To The Schuster Family;
I was shocked to learn of Greg's passing, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Greg I worked together for many years at Grant Street Associates where we became very good friends. In fact, we worked together last fall to complete a retail lease for space in Ross Township. Greg was always so pleasant and responsive, he was just a great person who was always willing to help. Greg even helped me in the mid-90's with my landscaping plan for my new house that was being built in Ohio Township. I can't say enough good things about Greg, he will certainly be missed and may he rest peacefully.
Deepest Sympathies, Rob Geiger
