Gregory Lynn Thompson

Gregory Lynn Thompson, 73, of Marietta, joined his Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

Greg was born June 18, 1952 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Glen and Mildred {Martin} Thompson.

He was 1971 graduate of Carthage-Troy High School. Greg served in the United States Army National Guard and was stationed at Fort Polk, Louisiana.

He married Diane Nicholson on September 14, 1985.

Greg worked for Marietta Ignition, Stowes and retired from Marietta Truck Sales. He was a member of Stillwaters Baptist Church. Greg loved music and was a church song leader for many years. He liked to hunt and fish and was an excellent pool player. Every morning, after his coffee, he and his wife enjoyed their bible devotions and prayer time together.

Greg will be deeply missed by his wife Diane; sons Greg (Mindy) Thompson and Sam (Kat) Thompson; stepchildren Patrick (Christine) Miller and Kendra Miller; six grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; brothers Jim (Dorothy) Thompson and Paul (Dottie) Thompson

Greg was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.

Friends may call Sunday, November 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roberts Funeral Home-East Lawn Chapel, 27880 St. Rt. 7, Marietta. Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Matt Stahl officiating. Additional visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
