Gregory Scott Timbrook, 65, of Fort Ashby Road, Keyser, WV, died on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital in Keyser.
Born on September 13, 1957 in
Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late Alston M. and Loretta M. (Decker) Timbrook. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Michael "Mike" Timbrook and his wife the former Linda Swick, sister of his wife, Connie; his father-in-law, Alvie Swick and his bestest furry buddy "Jack."
Scott was a 1975 graduate of Keyser High School and was employed as a department manager with the Keyser Wal-Mart Supercenter for 22 years where he made many close friends.
Scott's love for and faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. After he was diagnosed with cancer and was unable to continue to return to his job, he felt his purpose was to share the gospel of Jesus Christ! He developed a ministry on Facebook to share God's Word in order to reach as many people for Jesus as possible. He also became a prayer warrior.
Scott loved collecting sports jersey, hats and sneakers and was an avid Bigfoot enthusiast. He had a passion for muscle cars, something he shared with his nephews Chris. He especially loved his Dodge Challenger which he enjoyed driving around the local area with Connie, taking beautiful photos of historical sites, Wildlife, flowers and eye-catching scenery. He shared the beauty he captured in his photos on Facebook.
In his younger years, he loved fishing in nearby streams and would tell his nieces and nephews funny stories of his fishing adventures. In recent weeks before his health failed, he very much enjoyed visits from Matthew where they hung out and played video games, something he always had a passion for. He and Connie would also go into town to get ice cream. These were highlights, not only for them, but for all of his family. We all loved seeing him "trying to live his life!"
Surviving is his beloved wife of 42 years, Connie Lynn (Swick) Timbrook; his dearly loved son, Matthew Scott Timbrook; his sister, Vicki Klavuhn and husband Gary; nephews, Chris Klavuhn and Timothy Klavuhn; nieces, Molly Laraway and husband Les, Susan Fetters and husband Bobby; grand nephews, Austin Laraway and wife Brooke, Blake Klavuhn and grand niece, Brooklyn Klavuhn. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Lois Swick.
We praise Almighty God for giving Scott six more years of life! We cherished every moment. We want to thank each and every one who reached out to Scott and encouraged him. Scott would want to share the following scriptures: Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved," and from II Corinthians 5:8, "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
At the request of the family, graveside services will be private for the family.
Interment will be in the Biser Cemetery, Knobley Road, Keyser.
