Gregory T. Veit, 56, Thief River Falls, MN, formerly Mooreton, ND, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 5, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Mooreton, with Rev. Peter Anderl as celebrant. There will be visitation with Greg’s family one hour before the service at the church on Thursday. Vertin-Munson Funeral Home, Wahpeton, is in charge of arrangements.
Greg was born February 11, 1953, the son of Robert and Mildred (Trudell) Veit at Breckenridge, MN. He grew up near Mooreton, and graduated from Wyndmere High School in 1971. He attended NDSSS in Wahpeton in the Electrical Program. Greg worked as a master electrician in the Fargo area before he opened his own business in Beach, ND. He was united in marriage on November 26, 1983, to Bonnie Bothe at Gulva, ND, and the family lived in Beach before moving to rural Mooreton. They lived for a time in Trempealeau, Wisc., Beach, ND and the LaCrosse, Wisc area before Greg moved to Thief River Falls, MN in the summer of 2005.
Greg enjoyed sharing his love of nature with his family. They will have many special memories of Greg, including his imaginative camp fire stories.
Greg is survived by his son and daughter: Thomas Veit and Heidi Veit, both of Galesville, Wisc.; seven brothers and sisters: Kenneth (Jeanne) Hankinson, ND; Donald (Donna) Dickinson, ND; Robert (Sherry) Fargo; Allen (June) Bismarck; Marilyn (Scott) Ehrmantraut, Mooreton, ND; and Dennise (Dennis) Foertsch, Wyndmere; brother-in-law, Aaron Miller, La Crosse, Wisc.; brother and sister-in-law, David and Kaye Bothe, La Crescent, MN.
Memorials may be given to Shirley Wright memorial Library (11455 Fremont St. , Trempealeau, Wisc, 54661) or the charity of their choice.
