Gregory Vincent Obituary
December 22, 1952 - October 22, 2024
Gregory Vincent, age 71, of Bedford/Lynchburg, VA, passed away surrounded by family on October 22nd. Born on December 22nd in Beloit, WI to Barbara and Ralph Vincent. Greg was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle and will be greatly missed.
Greg grew up as one of five in Rockford, IL and received his bachelor's degree from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. He married Ann in 1975 and they began their marriage in Rockford, IL before moving to Roanoke, VA soon after. Greg grew to love Virginia and the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Throughout his life, Greg dedicated his time to serving others. He spent over 30 years volunteering at Lynchburg General Hospital in its emergency room. His role as financial advisor at Davenport & Co. allowed him to care for his community and their financial needs. He also attended Fort Hill United Methodist and was an active volunteer in its ministry.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Ann; a son, Nicholas Vincent, and his wife, Rebecca, along with their daughters, Emma and Audrey; and a daughter, Ryan Schmidt, and her husband, John, who have three children: Gabrielle, Christian, and James.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2nd 11:00 a.m. at Fort Hill United Methodist Church (106 Oakridge Blvd, Lynchburg, VA 24502). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Fort Hill United Church or Alzheimer's Association. Online condolences can be shared at www.heritagefuneralandcremation.com.
