Gregory Wilkison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels Funeral Home & Crematory - Live Oak on Feb. 8, 2026.
Gregory Hank Wilkison, 72, of Live Oak, FL, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026, after a brief illness. Greg was born on August 15, 1953, in Live Oak, FL. He grew up in Luraville and lived most of his life in Live Oak. He was of the Baptist faith. Greg was known for his strength, humor, and generosity. If you knew him, you know he never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family, fishing, and camping. He especially found joy in riding on the tractor with his grandchildren. He enlisted in the Army during the Vietnam era and served for six years, four of those in Germany. Later, he joined the Florida Army National Guard. During his 30 years in the National Guard, his unit, the 269th Engineering Company, was activated many times to help communities after natural disasters; the most memorable to him was their work in Miami after Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Additionally, he completed two tours of duty: Operation Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He worked as a Head Custodian for the Suwannee County School District for 31 years. He also owned and ran a successful lawn care business for over 30 years. Greg is survived by his beloved wife of almost 43 years, Pam, daughters Kristy (Matt), Chauncey, and Mindy Wilkison, grandchildren Hannah, Harper, and Hayden Chauncey, brother Stanley (Margaretta) Wilkison, sisters Katrina (Thomas) Duckworth, Myra Poucher, and Millie Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hazel and Hubert Wilkison, his grandparents James and Henrietta Webb, and Bennett and Geneva Wilkison. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 2:00 pm at the Daniels Memorial Chapel with Mr. Tim Brown officiating. The visitation will be from 1:00 pm until service time. Interment will follow in the Luraville Baptist Cemetery.
