Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home Jacobs Chapel - MonroevilleGregory Thomas Witte, 50, of Monroeville, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his residence following an illness over the past three years.
Greg was born on September 20, 1975, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Ned Thomas Witte, and Linda Sue (May) Pray.
Greg was united in marriage to Marilyn “Lynn” Abbott on May 23, 2015, and she survives.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post Number Four Hundred Twenty in Monroeville, Indiana. For the past eleven years, Greg had been employed with Trelleborg Sealants in New Haven, Indiana.
Greg was known for his wonderful sense of humor; he had a unique ability to walk into any room and instantly lift the spirits of those around him. He was a devoted fan of both the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears and proudly wore their hats, depending on the season. Greg found peace in the outdoors, especially during his time spent at the lake. Among his favorite pastimes was fishing—and he particularly enjoyed catching the “small ones.”
Greg is survived by his wife, Marilyn “Lynn” Witte of Monroeville, Indiana; step-daughter, Kaylee Nuttle of Angola, Indiana; mother, Linda (Larry) Pray, of Hoagland, Indiana; three brothers, Donald (Kelsey) Witte, of Monroeville, Robert (Gena) Witte of Monroeville, and Justin Patrick of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; six nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ned Thomas Witte.
