Gretchen Denise Egan

Gretchen Denise (Gebhardt) Egan, 61, of Evansville, Indiana, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at home surrounded by her family.
Gretchen was born in Evansville, Indiana on September 9, 1964, to the late Frederick Gebhardt Jr. and Beverly (Garrett) Thread-Gebhardt. She graduated from Central High School in 1982. Gretchen worked at Colonial Classics Landscape & Nursery for several years and had a deep passion for horticulture. In her free time, Gretchen enjoyed spending time at the Opryland Hotel and traveling to Florida. She also liked music, especially Aerosmith, and riding motorcycles. Gretchen adored her two cats, Wee and Punky. She had a caring and generous heart of gold. Gretchen will always be remembered for her laid-back, free and vibrant spirit. She will be deeply missed.
Gretchen is survived by her siblings, Larry Thread, Sunny Titzer (Mark), Dena Goad, Tracy Thread (Brandon Offutt), and David Gebhardt; and several nieces and nephews.
Gretchen was preceded in death by her parents.
A celebration of Gretchen's life will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711. A private burial will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 4:00 pm until service time on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Browning Funeral Home.
