Grover Jewett

Grover C. Jewett, 93, USMC - SGT - Korean War veteran, Hedron 35, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, FSF, was born June 14, 1932 near High Hill, Ohio and died September 17, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. Grover or Grove as he was affectionately called, was immensely proud of his children and is survived by Jim (Sarah) Jewett, Jane Jewett, Tom (Donna) Jewett, Tim (Karen D'Angelo) Jewett, and Mike (Ellen MacRitchie) Jewett and grandchildren, Andrew (Eden) Jewett, Zoey Jewett, Jennifer Jewett, Cayla Jewett, Tyler (Kimberly) Jewett, Joshua Jewett, Kelcey Jewett, Kenzie Jewett, Luke Jewett, Cara Jewett (Mick Doyle), Nick Jewett, Lindsey Jewett, Ben Jewett, Tommy Jewett, John Jewett, and Rachel Jewett, stepsister Jo Ann (Edic), and many nieces and nephews. Grover is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Marie (Marek) (2004), son Robert Allen Jewett (1970), mother, Elizabeth Ann Edic (Benjamin), father, Hugh Jewett (1962), Step dad, Norman Edic (1988), siblings Hugh (Hazel) Jewett (2016), Donna (Bob) McGavin (2012), James (Norma) Jewett, Eliza (Paul) Flask (2016), Frank (Doris) Jewett, stepbrother Paul Edic, and Father and Mother in law, Ed and Agnes Marek.
Friends and Family may call Tuesday, September 30, from 4-7 at Steinbauer Funeral Home, 33375 Bainbridge Rd. Solon, Ohio 44139. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Wednesday, October 1st at St. Rita Catholic Church, 32820 Baldwin Rd. Solon, Ohio 44139. Burial to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery, 26200 Aurora Rd, Bedford Heights, Ohio 44146.
Grove planted thousands of trees on the Solon part of the Emerald Necklace while working for the Metro Parks after his active duty.
