Guadalupe Delgado De Hernandez

We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Guadalupe Delgado de Hernandez on October 15, 2025 at the age of 93; she peacefully entered Heaven surrounded by her loving family.
Lupe was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jose D. Hernandez, her parents, Valentin and Gregoria Delgado, her sisters, Ramona Talamante, Carmen Villegas and Manuela Garcia, her brothers, Valentin and Gregorio Delgado all from Chihuahua, Mexico.
Lupe is survived by her brother, Raul Lopez Delgado, from Mexico and her three children, Jose (Angie) Hernandez, Elvia (Jaime) Hernandez-Segura, Silvia (Joel) Hernandez-Alvarez, all from Salinas. Her Grandchildren, Andrea, Alexandra, Vanessa, JoJo, Lita, Jaime Jose (JJ), Adrianna, Gabriela, Jessica, Nico, and Joselyn. Her Great Grandchildren, Xavier, Karissa, Sophia, Jordan, Aaliyah, Aryanna, Audri, Jaylene Cataleya, Jade, Leo, Noah, Zya and IIa.
Lupe was born to Valentin and Gregoria Delgado in Chihuahua, MX on July 15, 1932. She married Jose D Hernandez in 1957. In 1959 they settled in Los Angeles, CA; in 1964 they moved to Castroville, Ca where she worked for Associated Produce Distributers for 20 years. Upon her retirement, Lupe devoted herself to assist her children to raise her grandchildren. Lupe was fortunate to attend many of her grandchildren's college graduations along with numerous school and sporting events.
Lupe enjoyed gardening and traveling. She would spend hours in her garden taking care of her flowers and fruit trees; inside her home, she would care for her many house plants. Lupe had a very green thumb. She enjoyed traveling with her children and grandchildren to Mexico, Hawaii and Las Vegas many times. Lupe's other passion was listening to music especially from her favorite artists, Pedro Infante and Javier Solis. We will miss listening to her whistle while caring for her plants.
We would like to thank VNA Hospice of Monterey for their care and support of our beloved mother. We would personally like to thank Andrea H (VNA) for her empathy and kindness and to Claudia Gomez, caregiver.

Nos entristece anunciar el fallecimiento de nuestra amada madre, abuela y bisabuela, Guadalupe Delgado de Hernández, ocurrido el 15 de octubre de 2025, a la edad de 93 años. Partió en paz al cielo, rodeada del amor de su familia.
Lupe fue precedida en muerte por su querido esposo, José D. Hernández; sus padres, Valentín y Gregoria Delgado; sus hermanas, Ramona Talamante, Carmen Villegas y Manuela García; y sus hermanos, Valentín y Gregorio Delgado, todos originarios de Chihuahua, México.
Lupe deja en vida a su hermano Raúl López Delgado, de México, y a sus tres hijos: José (Angie) Hernández, Elvia (Jaime) Hernández-Segura y Silvia (Joel) Hernández-Álvarez, todos residentes de Salinas. También le sobreviven sus nietos: Andrea, Alexandra, Vanessa, JoJo, Lita, Jaime José (JJ), Adrianna, Gabriela, Jessica, Nico y Joselyn; y sus bisnietos: Xavier, Karissa, Sophia, Jordan, Aaliyah, Aryanna, Audri, Jaylene, Cataleya, Jade, Leo, Noah, Zya e IIa.
Lupe nació el 15 de julio de 1932 en Chihuahua, México, hija de Valentín y Gregoria Delgado. En 1957 contrajo matrimonio con José D. Hernández. En 1959 se establecieron en Los Ángeles, California, y en 1964 se mudaron a Castroville, California, donde trabajó durante 20 años para Associated Produce Distributors. Al jubilarse, Lupe se dedicó por completo a ayudar a sus hijos en la crianza de sus nietos. Tuvo la dicha de asistir a muchas de las graduaciones universitarias de sus nietos, así como a numerosos eventos escolares y deportivos.
A Lupe le encantaba la jardinería y viajar. Pasaba horas en su jardín cuidando sus flores y árboles frutales; dentro de su hogar también cuidaba con esmero sus muchas plantas. Tenía un don especial para la jardinería. Disfrutaba viajar con sus hijos y nietos a México, Hawái y Las Vegas en múltiples ocasiones. Otra de sus pasiones era escuchar música, especialmente de sus artistas favoritos, Pedro Infante y Javier Solís. Extrañaremos escucharla silbar mientras cuidaba de sus plantas.
