Guadalupe "Lupita" (Caballero) Garza, born on July 5, 1953, in Pettus, Texas, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 29, 2025, at Christus Spohn Hospital in Beeville. She was 72.
Lupita leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion as a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She dedicated her life to being a nurturing presence to her family, exemplifying support and encouragement. She married Ruben Garza on November 24, 1994, in Beeville and to this union was born their son, Ruben Garza Jr.
As a retired LVN, Lupita poured her heart into caring for others. Her commitment extended beyond her profession; she passionately attended every sports event for her son, instilling in him the values of perseverance and determination. she raised him with the belief that one should never give up and should always fight until the very end, a fierce testament to her own resilience. She enjoyed decorating for the holidays and tending to her dog, Rallo.
Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, kept meticulously clean and tidy, reflecting her great cooking skills and hospitable nature. Lupita’s sweet and inviting personality made her a cherished figure in the lives of many, as she was always willing to lend a helping hand.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gil and Amelia (Chapa) Caballero; and two brothers, Danny Caballero and Adolfo Caballero.
Lupita's family includes her loving husband of 30 years, Ruben Garza, and their son, Ruben (Samantha) Garza Jr. She found great joy in her grandchildren, Samson and Sarah. She is also survived by her brother, Gil Caballero Jr. of Pettus; three sisters, Eloisa Aguirre of Kenedy, Amelia "Nena" Gonsalez of Karnes City and Othilia "Tila" Dominguez of Beeville; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at Angelus Funeral Home in Beeville on Sunday, August 31, 2025, beginning at 4 p.m., followed by a Rosary and funeral service at 5 o’clock.
