Guadalupe A. Lopez entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Guadalupe, also known as “Lupe” by his family and friends, was born to Santiago Lopez and Maria De La Luz Almazan in Mexico. At a young age he started working as an immigrant and dedicated forty years to the Port of Brownsville as being an operator and shop foreman. His hobbies were fishing, enjoying the Dallas Cowboys football games and gambling at the Casinos. After retirement, he enjoyed his hobbies even more. He enjoyed traveling with his wife to visit family and taking road trips anywhere their hearts desired. Family get togethers were a special time for family fun and will always cherish those memories.
Lupe was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Refugio Lopez and Antonio Lopez and is survived by his loving wife Raquel Lopez and their nine children; Maria Guadalupe (Jesus) Tobar, Leticia (Jesus Mario) Jaramillo, Guadalupe (Sylvia) Lopez Jr., Erika (James) Coleman, Lydia (Luis) Hernandez, Rachel (Alberto Armando) Saldaña Jr., Sebera (Guadalupe) Sarmiento, Belinda (Juan Carlos) Lopez and Jeanette (Edgar) Resendez. Also, to treasure many memories are his thirty-three grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild; Lupe’s siblings; Santiago Lopez Jr., Elena Cordova, Librado Lopez, Maria de La Luz Cisneros, Rumaldo Lopez, extended family members and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Treviño Funeral Home Southmost. Visitation resumes 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26th, 2025 with a scheduled Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at The Good Shepherd Catholic Church located 2645 Tulipan Street in Brownsville, Texas. Rite of committal will follow Buena Vista Burial Park.

Guadalupe A. Lopez entro a eterno descanso el Miércoles, 19 de Marzo de 2025 rodeado con su amorosa familia. Era muy amado y lo vamos a extrañar demasiado.
Guadalupe, también conocido como “Lupe” por su familia y amistades, nació en Mexico y sus padres fueron Santiago Lopez y Maria De La Luz Almazan. Desde joven, el comenzó trabajar como imigrante y se dedico cuarenta años al Puerto de Brownsville como operador y el caporal del comercio. Sus pasatiempos de Lupe era la pesca, disfrutaba el equipo de futbol americano The Dallas Cowboys y el juego de los Casinos. Después de su retiro, disfrutaba sus pasatiempos mas. Disfrutaba ir a viaje con su esposa Raquel y irse a paseo donde deseaban ir. Su amor y cariño ha su familia era muy importante para el y siempre estará esos memorias en nuestros corazones.
Es precedido en muerte por sus padres y dos hermanos; Refugio Lopez y Antonio Lopez y sobrevive por su esposa Raquel Lopez y sus nueve hijos e hijas; Maria Guadalupe (Jesus Javier) Tobar, Leticia (Jesus Mario) Jaramillo, Guadalupe (Sylvia) Lopez Jr., Erika (James) Coleman, Lydia (Luis) Hernandez, Rachel (Alberto Armando) Saldaña Jr., Sebera (Guadalupe)Sarmiento, Belinda (Juan Carlos) Lopez and Jeanette (Edgar) Resendez. También comparte muchas memorias sus treinta tres nietos, veinte y uno bisnietos y un tataranieto, los hermanos y hermanas de Lupe; Santiago Lopez Jr., Elena Cordova, Librado Lopez, Maria de La Luz Cisneros, Rumaldo Lopez y familia extendida y amistades.
La visitación será de 2 p.m. a 9 p.m. el Martes, 25 de Marzo de 2025 con un Santo Rosario a las 7 p.m. en la capilla de Funeraria Treviño Southmost. Visitación resume de 8:15 a.m. ha 9:00 a.m. el Miércoles, 26 de 2025 con una misa programado a las 10:00 a.m. en la iglesia Católica de El Buen Pastor ubicado en la calle 2645 Tulipan en Brownsville, Texas. Después de misa la sepultura será en el panteón de Buena Vista.
