When I see this quote, I think of you. You were one of the most intelligent, ambitious, and adventurous persons I've ever known. You lived life on your terms and did what made you happy. The memories you left behind will always bring a smile to my face, and joy to my heart. I have 37 years' worth of memories to choose from, but I will always choose Hey Lupe, let's play the game of Life! as my favorite. It was just a board game to me, but to you, life had a much deeper meaning. You took each day, and you made it your own. Although the pain from losing you is immeasurable, so is the love you left behind. To have had you for an uncle was the greatest blessing, and you will always have a special place in my heart. Rest easy, big guy. I love you.

The deceased often live in the memories of the living. I dont think that could be a truer statement for you, Uncle Lupe. The memories I have of you stem from when I was a little girl riding in the suburban as you and Aunt Didas infectious laughter filled the air, to only a year ago before I went to Afghanistan as we all sat down with Jacob drinking wine and laughing with the beautiful bay in the background. Ive always cherished those memories, and now even more so that youre gone. Ill keep making sure to continue to live life with laughter and fun, the way youve shown me to live. I love you, and miss you more than you know.

Thanks for the great time we had whenever I visited Corpus especially in January 2019. The hot chocolate you made for us was GREAT. The laughs you, Jacob (RIP) and I had watching Rrrobbie's antics on "Made in Mexico" while Sonia tried on clothes Dida was giving away to Goodwill were beyond memorable. Patrick, Emily and I will miss you more than you'll ever know. RIP Brother.
