Guadalupe Piña Talamantes, 93, of Laredo, Texas, died on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 in Austin, Texas. He was born on February 25, 1923, in Gary, Indiana to Guadalupe Saenz Talamantes and Maria Piña Talamantes. Guadalupe went to school in Mexico and Gary, Indiana through the 8th grade. He retired from the Chrysler Corporation, working as a crane operator for many years. Guadalupe was in the military serving his occupational specialty as a fire fighter. Guadalupe had a strong faith and attended church every Sunday for many years. Guadalupe was a great dancer, cared for his mama, always helped others, and was a man of God. He is preceded in death by his wife Maria Rosa Talamantes; niece Yolanda Terran; two brothers Gonzalo and Fredrico Talamantes; and by his sister Bellen Tallamantes Coyle. Guadalupe is survived by his daughter Marie Dolores Alello (his only child); grandchildren Danielle Alello, Julia Ludford, Olina Ludford; and by nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 4, 2017at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 4311 Small Drive, followed by interment at Austin Memorial Park.
