Gunder Aos Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cease Family Funeral Home - Bemidji on Jan. 6, 2026.
Gunder Aos, age 58, passed away surrounded by family on December 27, 2025, in Bagley, MN.
Gunder Andrew Aos was born on April 13, 1967, in Harbor City, CA to Beatrice Luz Guitterez and Gordon Aos. He was adopted by his stepmom Barbara.
Gunder was active in the boy scouts growing up. He developed a love for the outdoors, going fishing every chance he got. He and his brother Allan and other friends would get on the water and find the best fishing spots. Even if it meant fishing off the "Swimming Raft" in the early mornings before the lifeguards came on duty on the shore of Lake Lomond.
Gunder served in the Army from 1986-1992. He was a member of 11 Bravo. He and Allan operated a Stucco business in North Carolina for many years. He was a very hard worker and took great pride as a plasterer.
Gunder loved his Alabama football team and watched games whenever he could. Roll Tide! He loved music- especially the band Rush.
He married Angie Harris in 1995 and later divorced. They had 2 sons, Gordon and Jadon.
He had many friends and will be missed. He loved to joke around and have a good time. He was thankful that he got to spend his last 14 months with his love and soulmate, Mona. They had so many great times and made lasting memories together. Mona took care of Gunder after he became ill with ALS.
Gunder had a strong love for God and for his Savior, Jesus Christ. He knew that he had to give himself to Jesus- body and soul- and that he would be welcomed into the Kingdom of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Melody Skerik.
Gunder is survived by his special companion, Mona Baker; his sons, Gordon and Jadon Aos; siblings, Bill Roach, Lee Ann Torres, Allan Aos, and Alice Aos; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece, Amanda Thorssen; aunt, Iris Christensen; and his ex-wife, Angie Harris.
There will be a Celebration of Gunder's Life at Amanda Thorssen's farm, 11442 370th St., Bagley, MN 56621, on May 23, 2026 at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow on May 24, 2026 at Sell Lake Cemetery in Shevlin, MN.
You are gone from this earth, but never from our hearts.
