Gunner Press Patterson

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Gunner. Gunner Press Patterson passed away Dec. 12, 2025. Since his birth, he waged a courageous and inspirational battle against Lissencephaly. Gunner was born June 10, 2020, to parents Nicholas and Charlene Farver Patterson, in Blairsville. He was adored by sister Hadlee Nicole and brother Tucker Joe Patterson.

There are many things we will remember about Gunner's life. He was the joy and light of his 23 cousins who kissed, loved and enfolded him with their arms until he went away. Whether on a cruise, car races, sand box or other adventures, he was always the sociometric star for his siblings and cousins.

He did not escape the loving attention and affections of his neighbors at Hidden Lake in Cherry Log. One couple, Gail and Lynn Walker, who reside on the mountain, led an effort to create a memory garden at the apex of Hidden Lake Mountain in honor of Gunner. His ashes will be interred there at a later date. The greatest honor anyone could achieve occurred when the Cherry Log Christian Church informally designated him as a child of the church and ministered and cared for him deeply until his passing.

He was preceded in death by his Uncle TJ Farver and Aunt Betty Davenport.

He is survived by his parents, Charlie and Nicholas Patterson, sister, Hadlee and brother, Tucker. Other survivors include paternal grandparents, Pam and Tony Patterson, maternal grandparents, Bob and Lori Farver, aunt and uncle Joanna and Jason Rhodes and their sons, Cohutta Ross, Austin Rhodes, Blake Rhodes and grandson Jax Rhodes; great grandparents, Joe and Jo Ann Sisson. He is also survived by special friends, Jorge Perez, Mateo Perez and Andres Alonzo; Mike, Kristin, and Miya Releford; Jimmy, Marissa, Casen and Cohen Dupont. A host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and dear family friends.

His services were held Monday, Dec. 15, at 2 p.m. at Cherry Log Christian Church located at 1149 Cherry Log Street, Cherry Log.

The Rev. Monica Ledford officiated. Eulogy was delivered by Caroline Carder and Joe Sisson. Nikki Lynn Frey shared heartfelt words in memory of Gunner. Pallbearers include Cohutta Ross, Bryson Eaton, Jimmy Dupont, Chris Dupont, DJ Carder, Dustin Carder, Jason Rhodes and Mike Releford.

Nick and Charlie would like to express their deepest gratitude to friends, family and Cherry Log Christian Church.
