Gus Roby Huff

Gus Roby Huff, 89, passed away on Friday, January 23, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Shirley J. Huff; sons Terry Huff (Linda) and Jeff Huff (Vicky), all from Bowling Green; sisters Beverly Smith of Morgantown and Mittie Pogue of Greenville; and brother Lhebanon Huff of Roundhill. He also leaves behind grandchildren, Ricky Lee Huff (Joey), Joanie Davenport (Dwayne), Susie Tomes (Eric), Michelle Eversole (Duey), and DJ Nethery, along with several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Gus was preceded in death by his late wife, Geneva Huff, son, Ronnie Huff, sisters Virgie Sellers, Betty Cherry, Loretta Huff, Hazel Huff and brother Jr. Huff.

A Bowling Green native, Gus was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He retired from Eaton Corp. as an inspector and served as a General Baptist Pastor at Barber Way General Baptist Church. Gus was a hardworking man who loved and cared for his wife throughout her illness. He enjoyed pulling pranks and had a passion for the outdoors. His hobbies included gardening, hunting, helping others, sharing the word of God, and preaching.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 29, for the family at 4 pm. For the public from 5-8 PM on Thursday and after 11 AM on Friday at J.C. Kirby and Son Broadway Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday at the same chapel officiated by Bro. Buster Jordan. He will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery following the service.
