Gus Pete Manos

GUS WAS ONE OF WONDERFUL PEOPLE I GOT TO MEET IN THIS LIFE, I WILL CERTAINLY MISS HIM, GOD BLESS YOU SHERI AND PETE.

Gus would treat me to a banana milkshake , when I would stop by Zestos while working on Lexington County EMS unit 7 the Cayce Fire House Station. He would tell me " You need the nutrition to do your job" What a wonderful, loving, caring and giving man . My thoughts and prayers go out to all of Mr. Gus´s family, employees and many friends. May Peace be with you all during this time of loss.

RIP Gus, you are wonderful inspiration to all that knew you or came in contact with you or your wife. Thank you for all the great memories.

I grew up riding my bike all around triangle city in the 1960's-70's as my family owned a business in the area. Gus and Don picked, joked, with me since I was 8 years old and Gus all the way up to about 2 weeks ago .What a joyful, wonderful man . Duke Taylor

I was first introduced to Zesto of West Columbia in June of 1989, as a freshman attending USC. I never imagined chicken as good as my grandmother's, and I was instantly hooked. Over the years, Gus's kindness to his customers and employees has been a constant reminder to me of what life is all about: love expressed through relationships. Gus was a gentleman who led by example, and he will be deeply missed.

My family would like to send our heartfelt condolences to the Manos Family in this troubling time. Gus will be missed by many and its not going to be the same when I go into Zesto and not see Gus in his usual spot. Pete & Ms Sheri, Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your families. Mama and I will miss our Wednesday greetings from Gus!! He always said Hello Ladies!! He was a wonderful and gracious gentleman!!

We will miss seeing Gus at his reserved table at Zesto. We loved speaking to him over the years. He always said hello Ms. Smith. We have been coming to Zesto's for over 60 years. We have a lot of great memories there.

I grew up in Sprjngdale and do not remember not knowing Gus,Sherri and Pete. They were more than extended family and neighbors. We have all been bkessed by this family in our lives. My heart goes out to Sherri, Pete (family)and Jody. They took such good care of our late parents. Such a blessing, such a loss!

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Everybody loved Gus, you and your son Pete. He will be missed but never forgotten. We love you'll. I was one of the Telephone folks who came there

There was no one like Gus. He always made you feel better after being with him. His (and Sheri's) kindness and generosity will always stick with me.

We were so saddened to hear about the loss of Gus Manos. We miss seeing him walking the neighborhood. He was a good neighbor and friend. Our hearts go out to his family. God bless, will be praying for you at this most difficult time.

Gus gave me my first job in 1963. I work for Zesto 10 years and every day I went to work was a great experience. Gus helped so many people over the years and I know that from personal experience. Sherry was a loving wife and Pete was a great son. Gus and his business partner Angelo came to my wedding in 1967. Every person Gus met he treated them as a friend. In closing I would like to say, Love you Sherry and Pete.

Always a kind word and a big smile for everyone he came in contact with. He was the epitome of a great man. Prayers of peace for his family and friends.

What can I say.
My being so fortunate to know a man like Mr Gus in my life was a great blessing!!!
I was born in 1961 and I have been blessed to know him every since I was a little boy!
I was so proud to take my wife in to eat after I married her in 1987. PROUD!
Because of the man he was and I wanted her to know him.
We saw him about a month ago when we went in to eat and he told me ( it's so good to see you (my boy) that's what he has always called me and he said to me with my wife with me by my side he said you have always made me feel good like old times when I see you!
He was a great man!!
I only wish that I am good enough to see him again one day!
I know where he is and I know he's happy!!
But I will miss him!

My sincere condolences to Sheri, Pete and the family. I have been honored to know Gus and Sheri since the late 60's. They were my customers when I worked for a savings and loan on Knox Abbott Dr. He always came through the drive thru with a smile on his face. Both he and Sheri always spoke no matter where I would see them. Great couple and a blessing to many. Rest in peace Gus.

We will truly miss Gus in the community. He was always at Grecian Gardens Restaurant every Sunday night when I , friends and family was there . He spoke to everyone and always had a smile and friendly word to share .I went to high school with his brother, Mike, and have fond memories of those years at Columbia High School .

Mr. Gus has been a staple in my life for as long as I can remember. He was friends with my grandfathers and greeted me with a smile every time I came in the restaurant with " There is Harvey's girl". He will truly be missed by many family and friends. My thoughts are with his family through this time. May you find peace.

Gus was truly a positive influence for the West Cola. Community. We have precious memories of visiting Zesto for food and ice cream and always seeing his smiling face since I was a very young child. Thank you for the years of good memories.

I am saddened to read we have lost a long time friend and one of true good human beings. I have known Gus since I was around eight. Gus watched over me and my mother with every visit to Zesto's. He knew us by name and everyone he encountered. Gus was my friend and so many others like me. He will always be missed. I am now in my 70's now and have been blessed by knowing Gus Manos.

Our deepest sympathies, he will truly be missed. Prayers for his family.

Gus was remarkable in his care for others and for this country. His life is a testimony to love of God, the Greek Orthodox church and to the land of his birth. His family was from Sparta and that is something remarkable. RIP He touched the lives of so many.

Connie and I are so sad to hear of Mr. Gus´s passing. We have all been friends for most of my life. Mr. Gus always took great care of my Smith Family and my Robert´s Family during celebrations and times of grief. It was always a joy seeing y´all together behind the counter and in the Dining Room. Zesto´s will not be the same with not seeing Mr.Gus there and hearing him call me "My Boy and Mr. Smith!" May God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit welcome Mr. Gus home in Heaven with the words of "Well done my good and faithful Servant, enter into the joys of the Lord!"
