Gustonia Maxine Ada Benford

Gustonia Maxine Ada Freeman Benford, a cherished mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on September 27, 1936, in Athens, Alabama, Gustonia spent her later years in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she was known for her dedication to her family and her profession.

Gustonia worked as a Payroll Clerk at Procter & Gamble, leaving a lasting impact in the realm of administration. Her legacy extends through her beloved daughter, Lane Leslie Benford of Toledo, Ohio, and the memory of her late daughter, Carla Paige Benford of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is also survived by her dear sister, Shirley Ann Neloms of Silver Springs, Maryland, her sister-in-law, Hester Freeman of Aberdeen, Maryland, and her younger brother, Khalic Mohammed of Cincinnati, Ohio, and his wife, CJ, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives who will greatly miss her.

The visitation for Gustonia M. Benford will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Arlington Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, located at 2155 Compton Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231 (follow the blue line upon entering the memorial park). A memorial service will take place on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Christ Covenant Church, located at 2191 Struble Road, Cincinnati, OH 45231, at 11:00 AM.

In accordance with her wishes, Gustonia's body will be cremated. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in honoring the remarkable life she led.

Gustonia was preceded in death by her parents, Haywood and Rosita Freeman, her beloved husband, Charles Benford, and her daughter Carla Benford.
