Guy was so fun that he even made conjugating verbs into a good time, no exaggeration. As my professor at UMPI, his love of French culture was infectious. He took us to Quebec on a field trip during carnival and we had a blast. He was my father's coworker and my sister's boyfriend's dad, and I never heard anyone say a bad word about him. When I went back to Presque Isle in 2006, I walked down Main St. feeling like I didn't know anyone anymore, when I ducked into a store and there was Guy, all cheerful, with his good guy energy, and I thought, "This was the best possible person to run into. The best of Presque Isle."

We´ll miss him a lot. We have a lot of fond memories of him. He always had a joke ready and I still have short songs that he sang come to mind often.

I know your daughter-in-law Michele and your son. The love and dedication they had for you speaks volumes on the man you were.

Our times with the Wednesday Evening Fiddlers were made so much fun because of Guy - his ready smile, his wit, and his love of learning and of music. We will miss him so very much! Our sincere condolences to Guy's extended family and friends. - Darlene Morton and Robert LaFrance

Very sorry to hear of Mr. Gallagher's passing. I certainly will miss him walking on the bike path or at the North Street parking lot. During those walks I was able to have many good and informative conversations with him. I remember him also from my days at Presque Isle High School where he was teaching French. He and Carol Parker used to provide the student body with entertainment on occasion at assembly's, they were excellent. Rest in Peace.
