It comes with a heavy heart that on Sunday, August 16, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. Guy passed away in the care of Bristol Hospice and The Highland House in Grants Pass, OR. He is survived by his daughter Kristin Maczka, grandson William Maczka, and granddaughter Allison Maczka. Son, John Cobb and his wife Regina, and granddaughter Raphael and her husband Majik, and granddaughter Stephanie Morgan Jones. Also, his dear friend and brother Stephen Jones and his wife Kelly.
It goes without saying that he made a huge impression here in Grants Pass, OR. A resident of over 20 plus years. He dedicated his time to a lot of different groups such as; The Master Gardeners and Foster Grandparents of Medford. He enjoyed so many things in his life however, mostly giving his time to others made him complete. He placed and left footprints on so many people throughout his life as he did here in Grants Pass.
I have met so many people here that have and had the upmost respect for him state what a special man he was. Very giving and had the greatest faith that they had ever seen. He was kind, compassionate, loving, and above all stubborn! However, that's what made him stick out in a crowd. He always had a lot to say and offered help whenever needed. He loved people and all sorts of people of all walks of life. His love of his faith was very strong and he wasn't afraid to talk about it or share with others. He was smart and always learning; loved to learn and felt it important to do so no matter his age. As it is very sad to lose a loved one; we cherish the many memories and hold them dear as Guy will live on in all those he touched.
We are the lucky ones to have known such an amazing man, and may we always carry him in our hearts.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" for him at The Grants Pass Center for Spiritual Living on Sunday, August 24, at 2 p.m. There will be a potluck after and we encourage all to stay so you are able to share your stories with others.
