Gwen Aurandt Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Tom M. Wages Funeral Service - Snellville from Apr. 1 to Apr. 9, 2025.
Gwen Aurandt, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2025, at the age of 85.
Born on November 29, 1939, to Frank Augustus Casey and Nancy Drucila Hill, Gwen grew up in Atlanta, graduated from Brown High School in 1957, and attended the University of Georgia. It was there, she met the love of her life, Harry Phillip Aurandt, with whom she built a home, a family, and a lifetime of love until his passing in 2016.
Gwen loved thrifting and garage selling-not just for the thrill of the hunt but for the joy of sharing her finds through the antique booth she maintained as a local dealer. She found happiness in simple pleasures-playing cards with friends, spending time with family, and surrounding herself with the people she loved most.
She is survived by her two sons, Kenny Aurandt of Statham and Chris Aurandt of Valdosta, along with their families: five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Phil Casey of Tampa, FL, David Casey of Kingsport, TN, Janice Garner of Palmetto, GA, and was preceded in death by her siblings Kenny Casey and Judy Casey. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
The family will be holding a private celebration of life to honor Gwen. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor her memory by donating to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Humane Society.
Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.wagesfuneralhome.com. Tom M. Wages Funeral Service, A Family Company, 3705 Highway 78 West, Snellville, GA 30039 (770-979-3200) has been entrusted with the arrangements.
