Gwendalyn Newman

Gwendalyn (nee Triplett) Newman of St. Louis, Missouri, was born February 21, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri to Loyd and Enola (nee Gough) Triplett and entered into rest Wednesday, September 24, 2025 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 81 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Enola (nee Gough) Triplett; husband, Alan Newman; daughters-in-law, Stacey Thornhill and Gwen Thornhill; siblings, Loyd Triplett, Clarye Triplett, and Naomi Triplett. She is survived by her children, David Thornhill, Elizabeth Thornhill, Melinda (Brian) Stewart, Kevin Thornhill, Melanie Stahlman, and Scott Newman; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Vicki Triplett and June Triplett; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Gwendalyn, a graduate of Lindbergh High School Class of 1963, was deeply devoted to her family and cherished every moment spent with them. She had a passion for dancing and a joyful spirit that lit up any room. Always the gracious hostess, she loved to entertain, bringing people together with warmth, laughter, and love. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary. Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill, Missouri.
