Gwendolyn “Jackie” Cain Cook, 97, passed away on May 23, 2024 in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Gwendolyn was born on October 20, 1926, in Hartford Alabama to W.R. and Grace B. Cain. She attended Miami Jackson High School. She worked for and retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. She was a member of the VFW of Avon Park and the Bethel Baptist Church. In her free time, Gwendolyn enjoyed playing bingo and crocheting.
Gwendolyn was preceded in passing by her husband, William A. Cook and her parents, W.R. and Grace B. Cain, all of Miami, FL. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Gwendolyn and Charles Brown of Fort Pierce, FL; her grandchildren, Dennis and Christy Norcross of Windermere, FL, Charles and Lucy Brown of Palm City, FL, Donnie and Kim Brown of Palm City, FL, and Kim and Don Alexander of Jacksonville, FL; her niece, Jeanne Farmer; and her nephew, Buddy Byram.
A visitation will be held at Haisley Funeral Home on May 28, 2024 from 10 AM to 11 AM, with a service to follow at 11 AM. Gwendolyn will be interred at Flagler Memorial Park in Miami.
