Gwendolyn Agatha Drummond was born on Sunday, November 28, 1954, in Westmoreland, Jamaica, to Lena Melbertha Drummond and James Alexander Drummond. Gwendolyn began her teaching career in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where she influenced many young lives with patience and grace which carries over into the States.

Affectionately known as “Auntie Gwenny,” she was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. A woman of quiet strength and deep compassion, Gwendolyn dedicated her life to her family and her faith. A woman of resilience and deep compassion, Gwendolyn dedicated her life to uplifting those around her. She worked for many years as a teacher, always leading with patience and care. Her days were centered around creating a loving home, caring for those she cherished, and offering her time and prayers to those in need.

A long-standing and faithful member of the Washington, D.C. Christadelphian Chapel, Gwendolyn was deeply committed to her walk with God. One of her earliest cherished ministries involved walking through the community and handing out gospel tracts—a quiet, consistent witness of her belief and love for others. Her life was a living testimony of humility, service, and enduring faith.

She found her greatest joy in her family. Gwendolyn cherished every moment spent with her son and grandchildren, nurturing them with love, wisdom, and unwavering support. Her legacy lives on in their hearts and in the many lives she touched through quiet acts of love and grace.

Gwendolyn leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved son, Gareth Marc Kinglock, and her adored granddaughters, Katherine Elizabeth Kinglock, Alexandra James Kinglock, and Olivia Lyn Kinglock. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Cecile Henriques and Arlene Drummond; and brothers, Errol Drummond and Carlton Drummond. Gwendolyn is preceded in death by her sister Constance Drummond and brothers Albert Drummond, Denva Drummond, Sr., and Noel Drummond. Gwendolyn is fondly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and treasured friends.

Gwendolyn peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 3, 2025.

Her light will continue to shine in all of us.
