Gwendolyn Agatha Willeford, lovingly known as Gwen, passed away on February 27, 2025, in Longview, Washington, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication. Born on October 11, 1939, in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas, Gwen touched the hearts of many throughout her life with her unwavering commitment to education and her profound love for her students.
As a devoted school teacher, Gwen embraced her role with passion and grace, inspiring countless young minds along the way. Though she never married, she formed deep and meaningful connections with those around her.
Gwen found joy in the simple pleasures of life. An avid knitter and crocheter, she poured her heart into each stitch, creating beautiful pieces that held the warmth of her spirit. Her enthusiasm extended to her love for politics and vibrant discussions that drew in friends and acquaintances alike. Gwen was a proud vegan, living a life that prioritized health and well-being.
Though she leaves this world, she is survived by her beloved sister, Genevieve Agnes Walton, who shared many cherished moments with her and will carry Gwen's memory forward. Gwen also leaves behind a dear friend, Pennie Hendrickson, with whom she shared a bond of friendship over the last ten years.
Gwen’s departure is felt deeply by all who knew her, and her light will continue to shine in the hearts she touched. She is now at peace, reunited with her beloved parents, Agatha Dorice Holcomb and Archie Deveno Willeford, who have awaited her return. In their absence, Gwen’s love and warmth will resonate with her sister and friends, reminding them of a life well-lived, full of purpose, compassion, and a dedication to making the world a better place.
