Although I am not religious in the vein of Wright, I was very affected by his book, Seasons of a Marriage. I have been married 29 years and still learned a lot!

It's hard to believe that Norm has been gone a year. I think about him often and still share his words of wisdom with others. I know he had a glorious reception in heaven and I look forward to a reunion with him one day. Meanwhile, his life is still making an impact on the people I counsel.

I met him at a book signing years ago at Christian Lighthouse bookstore in Long Beach. He was so warm and friendly and talked to me like we were old friends... Abby A.

Today as I was cleaning my library, I took particular note of the shelf with Norm's books on it and happened to take down "Overcoming Fear and Worry", to display on the coffee table, I wondered how Norm was. Then I came to my emails. Well, I know he is absolutely fine right now in the presence of our Savior.

I knew about him before I met him, and what a sweet gentle man he was. I appreciate his ministry, and he will most certainly be missed.

Norm was an incredible man. I know he had a wonderful reception in heaven. While I grieve his loss, I rejoice that he is now with the Lord. I only got to know him personally in the last few years. I often cited his writings in my papers during my work on my Master's Degree in Crisis Response and Trauma. When I got to meet him, I was amazed at the time he was willing to invest in conversations with me. He was one of the most gracious people I've ever met.

Norm was a well respected professor in my MFT program. He was the one who interviewed me as an applicant to the program, personally invited me into the program, and invited me to be an intern in his counseling center. A month ago I retired my practice after 43 years in the profession. I have a great deal to be grateful for in Norms tutelage and his wonderful sense of humor.

Norm is one of the most generous, gracious person I have met. He's allowed me to use his material to teach others how to walk next to those who are hurting. He was always so willing to give what he knew so his ministry would continue to grow and spread. I will honor Norm, by continuing to teach his materials, to be that light for others to see. Thank you Norm, May you Rest-In-Peace! Job well done!

Norm,
I had to go too far back in my album to find pictures of the last times you fished with me.
But in my mind it wasn't long at all.
I think of you often over the years and wonder, I bet Norm would love this.
You've made me a betting person since we met and are memories will always be with me.
I'll miss you Norm.

Norm was a teacher, a confidant, a mentor, a friend, and a colleague. It was an honor to learn so much from him and a blessing to call him a friend. He was humble, kind, and inspiring to me personally and surely to all who knew him. Here was the guy ministering to us in our tragedies, then teaching us how to minister to others facing their crises and grief, while he suffered so many losses of those closest to him. He understood the journey of the bereaved better than most and did not waste anything God taught him but used it all for His glory. What a gracious servant of our Lord!

I will miss knowing he is just a call, text, or email away, especially if I have a question about best practices with those grieving or want to have him as a guest speaker in one of my classes at CSUB! I will do my best to take all that Norm taught me about counseling those in crisis, loss, and grief and pass along his wisdom to students interested in helping others. And I will be forever thankful for the gift of knowing and learning from Norm Wright.

I pray his wife, Mary, and his other loved ones are comforted by the peace that passes understanding through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Norm was not just a favorite prof at Talbot who prepared me for the practical parts of ministry but also a great friend over the years. I will always cherish the deep-sea fishing trip we took where Norm taught me how to catch a seagull!

Norm was a kind and gentle man who love the Lord and people. He poured out his life to help those hurting. I have been so blessed by several of his books and have given his wonderful, 'Experiencing Grief" booklet to many. Talking with him one-on-one was a special blessing. He will be missed by so very many around the country who were helped in their times of trauma and troubles.

My first memory of Norm was at Talbot Seminary and he was teaching us how to do pastoral counseling.
