H. Christine Parent

H. Christine (Chris) Parent, 95, passed away peacefully on January 27 in Shelton, CT. She was born on Christmas Day, 1930 to Henry and Hilda Rowett in Southbridge, MA.

Chris is survived by her step daughters, Beth (Ted) Braitsch, Barbara (Robert) Plasky, Pam (Tim) O'Flynn, and stepson, Robbie Parent. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Katie (Marc) Fairty, Christopher (Liz) Plasky, Tricia (Brandon) Schaffer, Jennifer (Joey) Durham, Liz Plasky, Brian (Kylie Reynolds) Braitsch, Tim (Kyle) O'Flynn, Nicole (Chris) Ruby, Colleen (Johnny) Kuchar and Annie Plasky. Chris is also survived by her 9 loving great grandchildren. She was affectionately known as Nana-the-Great, a title that she loved and lived up to.

Chris worked for many years as a computer programmer for United Technologies. She loved spending time with her family, traveling, gardening and painting.

Christine was predeceased by her husband of 32 years, Richard Parent, stepson John Parent and daughter-in-law Elaine Parent.

Chris was also predeceased by her sisters, Eleanor Mackenzie, Ruth Hansen, Norma Horne, Patricia Parent and her brothers Henry Rowett Jr and William Rowett.

She is survived by two sisters, Marilyn Gleason and Nancy Fontaine, two sisters-in-law Grace Rowett and Pauline Rowett and many loving nieces and nephews.

Chris will always be remembered as a loving wife, step mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend.

She has left us with a lifetime of wonderful memories.

Graveside services will be held at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Avenue, Milford, on March 14, 2026 at 10:30 a.m.
