H. Ronald Berthasavage

Pawcatuck - H. Ronald Berthasavage passed away Nov. 21, 2025, at the age of 90. Ron was born in Winton, Pa., to Henry and Helen Berthasavage. Due to his parents' early death, Ron was raised by his Aunt Mary and Uncle John Petro in Roebling, N.J. Ron attended Florence High School in Florence, N.J., where he was president of his class for four years and was a standout athlete in both baseball and basketball, attaining All-State and County honors. Ron attended Seton Hall University in South Orange, N.J. receiving his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. While at Seton Hall he played varsity basketball and baseball under Hall of Fame coach John "Honey" Russell and Owen Carroll, respectively. He was elected co-captain of the basketball team in his senior year.

Ron moved to Connecticut in 1958 and worked at General Dynamics, Electric Boat Division, retiring with 39 years of service in 1997. Ron married the former Marjorie K. Lord in 1960, where they settled in Pawcatuck and raised their three children.

He leaves a son H. Ronald Berthasavage Jr., his wife Liesel and their two children Katherine and Thomas; a daughter Linda Finnegan, her husband Charles and their two children Nathan (wife Valerie Nubbe) and Olivia (fiancé Dylan Kaiser); and a daughter Jeanne Lucey, her husband David and their four children, Connor, Rowan, Cara and Mae.
