H. Vogel Obituary
He was born July 11, 1936 to Louis W. and Emma E. (Knapp) Vogel in St. Joseph, Missouri.
A proud graduate of Central High School in 1954, Wayne laid a foundation of discipline and commitment that would define his career and personal endeavors. In 1968, Wayne began a long-standing role in the shipping department at Stetson Hats. He also owned and operated a successful lawn service.
Wayne's dedication to work was matched by his commitment to his faith and community. As a long-time member of the Ashland United Methodist Church, he cultivated friendships and contributed to the church's mission through both moments of fellowship and steadfast service.
He was a member of Saxton Lodge No. 508, A.F. & A.M., where he was Past Worshipful Master; Mitchell Chapter No. 14, Royal Arch Masons, ; St. Joseph Council No. 9, Royal & Select Masters; Hugh De Payens Commandery No. 4, Knights Templar; York Rite Association Illustrious Master; Hi Twelve Club No. 49, where he was awarded the Silver Trowell; Missouri Lodge Research; and Pearl Chapter No. 529, Order of Eastern Star, where he was Past Worthy Patron.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his brother, Norman Vogel, Sr. (Linda); nephew, Curt Vogel (Jennifer); niece, Jennifer Morrow (Jack); great nieces and nephews, Jared Vogel, Jordan Vogel, Tony Blevins, Jordan Ann Hager, Jentri Lackey, Ethan Morrow, and Ashton Morrow.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Ashland United Methodist Church. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
