Hakeema Rasheed was born October 27,1962 to Constance Scudder and Luther Carl Jackson. She attended the Newark, Irvington, and East Orange public school systems. She was inspired by her brother-in-law Bob G to become an X-Ray Technician, so she decided to further her education and graduated from Essex County College.
Hakeema also known as Kee, married Bilal Muhammad on January 1, 1982, and, from this union one child was born.
Hakeema worked for Eskimo Pie in Bloomfield for several years until the company closed. She then began working for Union Imaging Center as an X-Ray Technician. She has also worked at several hospitals, urgent care centers in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Delaware with over 35 years of experience. She was currently working at Inspira Medical Center (Salem Memorial Hospital) in
Salem, New Jersey as an X-Ray Technician at the time she was called home.
Hakeema relocated to Delaware in 2016 in search for better opportunities and to be closer to her mom Constance Scudder and Stepmother Yvette Fenn. In that time, she learned how to drive and purchased her very first car. She was a very smart lady who understood computers, managing finances, and new trends in medicine.
She will always be remembered for her sewing, cooking, playing cards, and playing monopoly. She loved hanging with family and sipping on her favorite drink Hennessy. Hakeema had a great love for music, she loved Jay-Z and The Whispers. But her number one singer was her nephew Yahya aka John Feva, she gave herself the title of being his number one fan.
She loved watching reality shows and Days of Our Lives. She was also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan and took great pride in the fact that they won SIX SUPERBOWLS! One thing about Hakeema is she really loved and adored her son Bilal; he was her pride and joy. She was also her mom's best friend, and enjoyed going shopping and spending time with her, they were inseparable. She will be truly missed.
Hakeema leaves to cherish her beautiful memories, her husband Bilal Muhammad, son Bilal Rasheed, bonus daughter Amirah Hunter (Greg), parents Constance Scudder and Luther Carl Jackson, Stepmother Yvette Fenn, grandmother Naomi Brown, Aunt Phyllis Scudder, brothers Bernard and Darryl Jackson, sister Cheryl Jackson, sister-in-law Nancy Graves, brother in laws Robert (Mary) and Marcus (Bernice) Graves, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and several loving friends.
Her funeral service will take place 10AM, Thurs., March 07th at Perry Funeral Home, 34 Mercer Street,
Newark, New Jersey, 07103. There will be a public viewing from 9:00am until 9:45am only. She will be laid to rest in Fairmont Cemetery,
Newark, New Jersey.
