Hal Frank Randall, 92, of Valdese, passed away Monday June 6, 2016 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care Center following a period of declining health. Mr. Randall was born on February 21, 1924 in Cleveland County to the late Charlie Zero Randall and Lucy Digh Randall. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving in World War II, and was on the USS Missouri. Hal was retired from Indian Rock Gated Community and American Manufacturing Rope Company, and loved to read and fly fishing. He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Valdese. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Kenefick Randall; his son, Gary Dean Randall; and three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hastings Randall of the home; his daughter, Kathleen Murray and husband Gregory of New York City, NY; his grandchildren, Rachel Hydell and husband Richard and Christine Murray; his step-daughter, Renee Hindson and husband Ronald of Greensboro; his step-grandchildren, Jeffery Hindson and wife Amanda, and Amber Atkinson and husband David; also surviving are 3 great-grandchildren; also surviving are two brothers, Walter Randall and wife Maxine and Buren Randall and wife Kathryn; and one sister Janice Morrison. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday June 9, 2016 in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese, with Rev. Jeff Carter officiating. Entombment will follow with military honors by the United States Navy and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard at Burke Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Heritage Funeral Service in Valdese. Memorial contributions may be made to Mount Calvary Baptist Church, 704 Praley St. SW Valdese, NC 28690 in memory of Hal Randall or Burke Hospice and Palliative Care at 1721 Enon Rd. Valdese, NC 28690. An online guestbook and obituary is available at www.heritagefuneralservices.com. Heritage Funeral Service & Crematory of Valdese is serving the family.
